8th December, 2020: Scrap Gold, Silver and Platinum Prices Witnessed No Change on Index

SEATTLE: The daily scrap gold prices - hallmarked and non- hallmarked remained flat on Tuesday, 8th December 2020 on the Scrap Matal Price Index. The prices of scrap Silver and Platinum too held steady on Index.

In the Hallmarked category, the 14 carat gold scrap prices remained unchanged at $ 1,045.81 per Oz. The prices of 18 carat and 22 carat gold scrap too remained flat at $ 1,340.78 and $ 1,637.54 per Oz respectively. 9 carat gold scrap also held steady when compared with the day before. The price of Platinum scrap witnessed no change at $ 772.87 per Oz. Silver scrap prices too remained flat at $ 19.94 per Oz.

In the Non-Hallmarked category, the 14 carat gold scrap prices remained unchanged at $ 989.20 per Oz. The prices of 18 carat and 22 carat gold scrap too remained flat at $ 1,268.21 and $ 1,548.91 per Oz respectively.9 carat gold scrap also held steady when compared with the day before. The price of Platinum scrap witnessed no change at $ 772.87 per Oz. Silver scrap prices too remained flat at $ 17.70 per Oz.

HMS 1/2 scrap quotations (80:20) in the US fell by $2/t by April 4 compared to March 21, to $353/t FOB East Coast. In general, product rose in price by $16/t in March. Therefore, some metallurgical plants have already refused to accept scrap due to declining demand for finished rolled products.
