4th February, 2020: North American Scrap Metal Prices Surged Higher on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices remained buoyant on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on February 4th, 2020, Tuesday. Aluminum, Brass and Bronze scrap prices too surged higher on Index. Stainless Steel scrap prices edged higher, whereas Steel scrap prices held steady on Index when matched with the day before.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap remained flat on Index. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing rose by $0.02 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.02 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.02 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery remained unchanged over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices too witnessed no change. Copper Radiator scrap prices inched higher by $0.01 per Lb. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Transformer scrap remained unchanged on Index.  Cu Yokes and Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices witnessed no change from the previous day.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe edged higher by $0.02 per Lb each on February 4th, 2020.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Heater Cores and Romex Wire prices held steady on Index.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Starters and Sealed units remained unchanged on Index.

Xmas Lights prices saw no change from previous day.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap too were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe inched higher by $0.01 per Lb.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions held steady over the day.

Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions were up by $0.02 per Lb and $0.01 per Lb respectively when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe edged higher by $0.02 per Lb each. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices held steady. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices remained unchanged on February 4th, 2020.

Chrome Wheels were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices held steady over the previous day.

Litho Sheets and MLC Clips edged higher by $0.01 per Lb each from previous day’s levels.

Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices too remained unchanged.

The prices of Old Cast, Old Sheet and Painted Siding were up by $0.01 per Lb each.

UBC and Zorba 90% NF prices surged higher by $0.02 per Lb each.

 Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat on Index.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too reported no change on 4th February, 2020.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady when compared with the previous day.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices reported no change.

301 SS prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices were up by $0.02 per Lb each on February 4th, 2020.

309 SS and 310 SS prices saw no change in price on a daily basis.

Meantime, 316 SS Solid and 330 SS prices were up by $0.02 per Lb each on Index.

 Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region soared on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap and 85/15 Brass Scrap prices surged higher by $0.01 per Lb each on February 4th, 2020.

Brass Radiator, Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices remained unchanged over the day.

Red Brass Rod Borings and Yellow Brass prices increased by $0.01 per Lb each on Index.
