6th January, 2020: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Recorded Decline on Index

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese Copper and Stainless Steel scrap prices declined modestly on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on January 6th, 2020. Brass/Bronze, Aluminum scrap prices witnessed no change on Index. Meantime, Steel scrap prices too held steady over the day.

Copper Scrap Prices

#1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 150 per MT over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing too declined by CNY 150 per MT each.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices dropped by CNY 50 per MT on Index over the previous day. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices remained unchanged over the previous day.

Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices witnessed no change on Index.

Cu/Al Radiator prices held steady.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices stood flat on Monday, January 6th, 2020.

Heater Cores prices remained unchanged.

Meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices remained unchanged on Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions witnessed no change in prices over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots too remained unchanged.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers saw no variation.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices remained unmoved on Index.

Old Cast prices too were flat on 6th January, 2020.

The prices of Old Sheets and UBC held steady on Index.

Zorba 90% INF prices saw no change from the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices dropped by CNY 100 per MT.

304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning scrap prices dipped by CNY 200 per MT each on Index.

309 SS and 310 SS prices witnessed decline by CNY 300 per MT and CNY 400 per MT respectively.

316 SS Solid scrap prices edged lower by CNY 300 per MT over the day on January 6th.

Shred SS prices were down by CNY 200 per MT over the previous day.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China remained unchanged on Index.

Brass Radiator scrap prices held steady on January 6th, 2020.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices too were flat on Index.

A single deep-sea scrap deal was heard from Germany on Tuesday at $343/tonne cfr Türkiye for 13,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 80:20, and at $363/t cfr for 7,000t of shredded and 6,000t of bonus grade material. The supplier initially entered the market with a $352/t cfr offer but, due to a lack of interest, lowered it to $348/t cfr last week before finally closing the sale at $343/t cfr.
