Scrapprices - A Birmingham-based steel supplier has expanded its footprint in the Midwest.
O’Neal Steel will open its new metal distribution center in St. Joseph, Missouri, on June 1.
The 64,000 square feet of warehouse space will initially serve a partner in the area, but it eventually will provide wholesale metal distribution, along with select processing capabilities.
“We are thrilled about our expansion into the St. Joseph market. This new facility opening aligns with growing demand in the area, and we are extremely well positioned to support that demand," said Stephen Armstrong, president and CEO of O’Neal Steel. “This opening is another step toward our company’s long-term growth strategy and directly reflects our recent market share growth in the metal service center industry.”
The center will employ up to eight and will run in two shifts, five days a week. It joins nearly 20 distribution centers nationwide.
O'Neal Steel is part of O'Neal Industries, which is one of the area's largest private companies.
