The US weekly raw steel output has increased marginally by 2.2% during the week ending May 7th, 2016.
US Weekly Raw Steel output up 2.2%, despite drop in North East output

ALBANY (Scrap Monster): As per the statistics released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the raw steel production by the country was up marginally by 2.2% during the week ending May 7th, 2016. The production had increased by 1.6% during the week prior to this.

The total domestic raw steel output during the week ending May 7th was 1,748,000 net tons. The AISI data indicates that the US raw steel production has increased marginally by 2.2% during the week. This is in comparison with the previous week (ie., the week ended Apr 30th)  production figures of 1,711,000 net tons. Also, the weekly output represents improvement of 2.6% in comparison with production of 1,704,000 net tons during same week the previous year.

The capability utilization rate of US steel makers rose slightly to 74.7% during the week ended May 7th, 2016.

The capacity utilization rate has increased considerably when compared with 73.2% during the previous week (ie., the week ending April 30th). Also, capacity utilization was higher when compared with the rate of 72.1% during same week the previous year.
