14th February, 2018: North American Scrap Metal Prices Surged on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices remained buoyant on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on February 14th, Wednesday. Aluminum, Brass and Bronze scrap prices too surged higher on Index. Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady on Index when matched with the day before.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap was up marginally by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing rose by $0.08 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.08 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.08 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery have increased by $0.03 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices too were up by $0.02 per Lb. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.08 per Lb to touch $2.82 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Radiator scrap saw slight increase by $0.02 per Lb. Copper Transformer, CuYokes and Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices too were up by $0.01 per Lb each.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe were up by $0.02 per Lb each on February 14th, 2018.

Heater Cores and Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were up slightly by $0.02 per Lb.

Romex Wire prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Xmas Lights and Sealed units saw no change.

Starters saw marginal increase in prices by $0.01 per Lb.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices moved higher by $0.01 per Lb. The prices of 3003 Scrap too increased by $0.01 per Lb. An up move of $0.01 per Lb was witnessed in 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean). Meantime, 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions price saw marginal increase of $0.01 per Lb each over the day. 6063 Extrusions and 6063 Extrusions/Fe prices too were up by $0.01 per Lb each.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe have increased by $0.02 per Lb each over the previous day. The prices of Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Radiators prices were up by $0.02 per Lb and $0.01 per Lb respectively from the previous day. Breakage 50% Recovery prices moved higher by $0.01 per Lb. Aluminum Transformer prices witnessed no change on 14th February, 2018.

Chrome Wheels and Mixed Aluminum Turnings witnessed rise of $0.01 per Lb.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb.

The prices of MLC Clips, Old Cast, Litho Sheets and Old Sheet increased by $0.01 per Lb.

Painted Sliding, UBC and Zorba 90% NF prices too were up by $0.01 per Lb each.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat at $365 per MT.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too reported no change on 14th February, 2018.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady at $280 per MT.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS and 301 SS prices reported no change.

304 SS Solid prices too remained flat over the previous day.

304 SS Turning witnessed no variation in prices on 14th February, 2018.

309 SS and 310 SS prices saw no change in price on a daily basis.

330 SS prices were flat at $1.14 per Lb.

Meantime, 316 SS Solid prices too remained unchanged on Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region soared on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator scrap prices surged higher by $0.02 per Lb each on February 14th, 2018.

Brass Radiator /Fe prices were up by $0.01 per Lb.

Brass Radiator Ends prices remained unchanged over the day.

Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices increased by $0.02 per Lb each on Index.
